Hey Iowa blog readers (Mom), check it out. The Shop Next Door is open!
And it’s kicking off December with a Grand Opening Party tomorrow (Dec. 1) from 5 to 8 p.m. Organizers promise coffee and food, both of which are pretty much guarenteed to be good, since the shop is owned by the same folks who run Brewed Awakenings.
The Shop is an “artisan collective” that sells local handmade items (like these screen-printed kitchen towels)

and vintage/repurposed clothes.

Oh, and they also happen to carry (shameless self-promotion ahead), quilted coasters and appliqued onesies (I wasn’t kidding when I said they were addictive)!

Thanks, Anne! Great pictures! Oh, we’ve already sold 7 of your onesies!
That’s so exciting Heather! I’m looking forward to stopping by the shop again soon!
Anne, I was sorting through some papers and found your 12/2/08 Gazette column with the pearvana.com blog. I can’t believe I didn’t latch onto the blog site when you announced you’d no longer be appearing in The Gazette (their loss!!). I am looking forward to checking out the Shop Next Door the next time I get to CR and checking out the blog on a regular basis. Photography, sewing, and cooking are 3 of my loves. I loved the picture of your cat looking out at the snow today. I no longer have any kitties, but have very fond memories of sitting on a cold winter’s day cuddled with a blanket, one or more cats, and a good book.
Oops. I gave my name an extra ó in my first post. Details, details.
