Usually when I pick a sewing project, I’m looking for a little bit of a challenge. A chance to piece together colors or fabrics in new ways. An excuse try a new pattern. A reason to learn a new technique (and since I haven’t been doing this very long, there are plenty of those).
But other times, all I want is a little bit of busy work. Something quick, easy, and relaxing that’ll keep my hands moving (and, now that I’ve acquired so many fabric leftovers, my stash dwindling), without requiring too much thought. For that, the quilted coasters from Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts has been the perfect project.

Cute, right? I love that tree fabric. I had just enough to make two sets of four coasters, then I started in on some holiday fabric, and made another two sets.

And, since I don’t really need any coasters, all four sets will be for sale in my friend Heather’s new shop, which is scheduled to open later this month! (Yay!) I’m super excited about this shop, and I’ve made a few other things for her to sell, too. I’ll share those soon.

Love these, Anne (especially the blues and greens, but you know I love that tree fabric)!
Nice job! I made some of these last year and have been meaning to make more for Christmas gifts this year. Love the snowflake fabric!
