monster sandwich!

Where do you go when you want a really great tenderloin?

The Iowa Pork Producers Association is looking for the best breaded pork tenderloin in the state. To nominate the restaurant that you think has the best one, visit www.iowapork.org

The person who nominates the winning restaurant will win $100, and the winning restaurant will receive $200 and, more importantly, bragging rights.

Larsen’s Pub in Elk Horn won the contest last year.

You can’t bunch all tenderloins in Iowa into one group. To me there are two distinct styles. One I’d call the family style (mostly lightly breaded meat) like they serve at Darrells in Hamlin, Iowa I have made the 130 mile round trip more than once for this masterpiece. There is also the Carnival Style Tenderloin, Huge, Thin Meat, where the size and condiments make it a winner, and in this arena No One, I said No One can beat SMITTY’S in Des Moines. The loin is a piece of heaven and the OWNERS and HELP could not be any nicer than they already are. I have had many good and many bad loins in my life but these two places get MY highest Rankings.. If you haven’t eaten the tenderloin at the Augusta in Oxford, Iowa then you really shouldn’t say you’ve had the best.

B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli has great pork tenderloins. They even have a couple of variations like an italian tenderloin or a chorizo tenderloin.

You can’t go wrong with their pork tenderloins.

    Hey Jeff,

Check it out. I was using google to try and find B&B Grocery and found this video. It shows B&B’s tenderloin sandwich. Kind of cool.
